GLP School Kizhisseri

The oldest school existing in Kuzhimanna Panchayat today is Kizhisseri GLP School, which began functioning in June 1920. This school, which was known as Board Elementary School, was functioning under the Malabar District Board, which was part of Madras State. The Board Elementary School was later renamed as Kizhisseri G.L.P. School.

GMUP School Kizhisseri

The school's initial activities began in 1928 as a single-teacher school. The class was started in the Nambiar Peedika, west of the road in front of the school.|There was no age limit for joining the school. Malayalam writing, reading and arithmetic were taught. Most of the children were the children of farmers who could not afford to buy school supplies. When India became independent, the Malabar District Board took over the school.

GHSS Kuzhimanna

When this school was started in 1966 through the tireless efforts of literate and selfless locals, the land required for the building and grounds was not available. Without any profit motive, Poolakal Karattu Chali Chekkurayin Haji and his brother Ahmed alias Bichunni Kakka donated the entire land required for the school free of cost.
